While creating these malas, I kept imaging the look of pine trees along the north shore of Lake Superior. It is made with 6mm sized Moss Agate and Picture Jasper stones, along with a Red Creek Jasper guru bead and brown silky tassel, strung on nylon thread and hand knotted between each stone.
Moss Agate is a strengthing stone, and has been said to aid women while in labor. Picture Jasper is stabilizing and grounding.
A mala is a set of beads commonly used by Hindus and Buddhists for keeping count while reciting, chanting, or mentally repeating a mantra or the name or names of a deity. They are sacred and beautiful and can be worn as a necklace or wrapped around your wrist multiple times. Malas are made with 108 beads and aguru bead. They can be made with fewer beads, such as 18, 27, or 54, which would require the user to make several rotations to complete their full meditation. The number 108 has spiritual significance as it is believed that we have 108 lines of energy in our bodies which converge to form the anahata, or the heart chakra.
***Each mala is made by hand and due to the nature of using natural materials, yours will look slightly different than the one pictured. Rest assured that I will create a mala that is just as gorgeous and original to you.***
