A mala is a set of beads commonly used by Hindus and Buddhists for keeping count while reciting, chanting, or mentally repeating a mantra or the name or names of a deity. They are sacred and beautiful and can be worn as a necklace or wrapped around your wrist multiple times. Mala necklaces are made with 108 beads and a guru bead. They can be made with fewer beads, such as 18, 27 (called a Quarter Mala), or 54, which would require the user to make several rotations to complete their full meditation. The number 108 has spiritual significance as it is believed that we have 108 lines of energy in our bodies which converge to form the anahata, or the heart chakra.
This mala is made with 6mm Green Aventurine and Amazonite beads and an Amazonite guru stone. Brass colored metal beads are placed at the quarter stops along the mala to help you know where you are at in your meditation. The mala is strung on peridot colored C-Lon thread and hand-knotted between each stone. The 2" silky tassel is also peridot in color.
Green Aventurine is a comforter and heart healer. It is used to clear and activate the Heart Chakra for general well-being and emotional calm. It is also a powerful protector of the Heart Chakra, providing a shield to block entry from those who would "tap in" and use the energy of another. It is a stone aligned with Virgo and Libra Zodiac Signs.
Amazonite is a stone of expression and inspiration. Amazonite is used to help soothe the spirit and calm the soul. It tempers aggression and calms the irrational. It provides harmony and balance. It is rejuvenating for the Heart and Throat Chakras and enhances loving communication.
