A mala is a set of beads commonly used by Hindus and Buddhists for keeping count while reciting, chanting, or mentally repeating a mantra or the name or names of a deity. They are sacred and beautiful and can be worn as a necklace or wrapped around your wrist multiple times. Malas are made with 108 beads and a guru bead. They can be made with fewer beads, such as 18, 27, or 54, which would require the user to make several rotations to complete their full meditation. The number 108 has spiritual significance as it is believed that we have 108 lines of energy in our bodies which converge to form theanahata, or the heart chakra.
This mala is made with 6mm Black Obsidian, Tiger Eye, and Picture Jasper beads. The guru stone is Amazonite and the tassel is a rich silky brown. The mala is strung on nylon thread and hand-knotted between each bead.
Black Obsidian is a powerful and creative stone which urges you to look at your true self, bringing imbalances to the surface for release. It is highly protective and supporting as you face change. Tiger Eye is a stone of protection and helps the wearer make decisions and think clearly. Picture Jasper is a stone of confidence - allowing you to see the bigger picture and move forward with courage. The Amazonite guru stone will help calm the soul and soothe the spirit. It provides harmony and balance and enhances loving communication.
***Each mala is made by hand and due to the nature of using natural materials, yours will look slightly different than the one pictured. Rest assured that I will create a mala that is just as gorgeous and original to you.***
