A mala is a set of beads commonly used by Hindus and Buddhists for keeping count while reciting, chanting, or mentally repeating a mantra or the name or names of a deity. They are sacred and beautiful and can be worn as a necklace or wrapped around your wrist multiple times. Malas are made with 108 beads and a guru bead. They can be made with fewer beads, such as 18, 27, or 54, which would require the user to make several rotations to complete their full meditation. The number 108 has spiritual significance as it is believed that we have 108 lines of energy in our bodies which converge to form the anahata, or the heart chakra.
This mala is made with Tigers Eye, Black Obsidian, Amazonite and an Amazonite guru stone. The tassel is black, white and gold. The mala is strung on nylon thread and is hand knotted between each stone.
Tigers Eye combines the energy of the earth with the sun that creates a high vibration yet is very grounding. It is a highly protective stone and helps a person to make decisions and think clearly. Black Obsidian is a very powerful and creative stone. It should be used with care because it forces you to take a look at your true self, bringing imbalances to the surface for release. It is highly protective and supporting as you face change. Amazonite is used to help soothe the spirit and calm the soul. It tempers aggression and calms the irrational. It provides harmony and balance. It is rejuvenating for the Heart and Throat Chakras and enhances loving communication.
