I created this mala to represent the beauty of the Lake Superior north shore of Minnesota. This area is my favorite place on Earth and is full of beautiful nature and magic. This mala is very special to me.
A mala is a set of beads commonly used by Hindus and Buddhists for keeping count while reciting, chanting, or mentally repeating a mantra or the name or names of a deity. They are sacred and beautiful and can be worn as a necklace or wrapped around your wrist multiple times. Malas are made with 108 beads and a guru bead. They can be made with fewer beads, such as 18, 27, or 54, which would require the user to make several rotations to complete their full meditation. The number 108 has spiritual significance as it is believed that we have 108 lines of energy in our bodies which converge to form the anahata, or the heart chakra.
This mala is made with 6mm Sodalite, Picasso Jasper, Picture Jasper, and Crazy Lace Agate stones and a Parral Dendritic Agate guru stone. The mala is strung on nylon thread and is hand knotted between each stone.
Sodalite helps a person stay true to their self and stand up for their beliefs. It helps clear the "chatter" in the mind. Supports Throat and Third Eye Chakras. Resonates with Sagittarius Zodiac Sign.
Jasper is a very supportive stone. Picture and Picasso Jaspers also foster creativity. Supports the Root and Third Eye Chakras and resonate with Leo and Capricorn Zodiac Signs.
Agate promote optimism, balance, and clarity. Supportive of Root, Third Eye, and Crown Chakras and resonates with Gemini Zodiac Sign.
