***Each mala is made by hand and due to the nature of using natural materials, yours will look slightly different than the one pictured. Rest assured that I will create a mala that is just as gorgeous and original to you.***
A mala is a set of beads commonly used by Hindus and Buddhists for keeping count while reciting, chanting, or mentally repeating a mantra or the name or names of a deity. They are sacred and beautiful and can be worn as a necklace or wrapped around your wrist multiple times. Malas are made with 108 beads and a guru bead. They can be made with fewer beads, such as 18, 27, or 54, which would require the user to make several rotations to complete their full meditation. The number 108 has spiritual significance as it is believed that we have 108 lines of energy in our bodies which converge to form the anahata, or the heart chakra.
This mala is made with 6mm sized Sodalite and Crazy Lace Agate beads, along with a Sodalite guru bead and cream silk tassel, strung on nylon thread and hand knotted between each stone. Sodalite is a stone of logic and truth, helping to keep you level-headed and calm. Crazy Lace Agate is a grounding stone and helps increase one's optimism.
